CLASS TEACHER – Mrs Leanne Cleal

Year 3

As year 3 children, we are now part of Key Stage 2! This means we are becoming independent learners, but we will, of course, still have some very exciting and lively learning including experiments, school trips and WOW lessons to excite and engage us! We will be more settled learners and need to be able to complete lengthier pieces of work. We will also focus on the quality and detail of our work; remembering to check it thoroughly and not rush through. We will be looking at how we can improve our writing, our mathematic skills and how we can problem solve across the curriculum.

In year 3, we develop our skills from what we have learnt so far in reading, writing and maths. We aim to become:

  • fluent readers who can talk about their thoughts about a particular book,
  • efficient mathematicians who apply strategies quickly,
  • reflective writers who think about how their writing sounds to a reader.

Homework will be given out on a Tuesday, to be returned by the following Monday.

We read with an adult 4 times a week as a minimum.

We have all been given log-in details for and will practise these throughout the week too.

PE is on a Wednesday and Thursday each week.

Now we are in year 3, we must remember to bring in our own snacks with a water bottle filled with water.
