Year 2

WELCOME TO PIPPIN CLASS

In Pippin Class we have a caring, nurturing environment, being kind to one another and respecting our differences.  Our learning environment is sometimes cooperative and lively and at other times more formal, quiet and independent. During year 2 we develop our independent learning skills becoming learners who are positive and focused, learners who give things a go, learn from their mistakes and persevere when things go wrong.

In year 2 we develop our skills learnt during year 1 in reading, writing and maths, becoming fluent and confident with words and number up to 100.

We also love to learn about the world around us, with experiments, practical activities and outdoor learning. We find out about where we live and how it differs to other parts of the country and world and we learn about significant historical figures who have shaped our lives.

Homework

PIPPIN Class has homework given out every Tuesday, to be returned by the following Friday.

Year 2 – reading at least 4 times a week with an adult and spellings/phonic practice
